a new canon and time passes

It's been 8 years give or take since I wrote these books. A lot has changed, for the better I think.  The links are dead, because eventually I want to edit and revise them. I hope that people who read them enjoyed them. I had fun writing them.

  1. Hi! I really liked your fan-fiction. This is not even fan-fiction, but three full-fledged books. Will you correct your works? When will the updates be published? Is there a topic on any forum where all of us can discuss your fan-fiction?

  2. Thank you so much! I plan to do a massive edit eventually and maybe tweak some of the weirder time line stuff that was in the original canon but really no longer makes sense but there' no time frame for this since I get to it in my spare time.

As far as forums go, I don't know to be honest. At the time I was writing the books I approached few fan fic forums but because at the time I was writing it in serialized blog form not really many were interested and I did not want to push so I don't think so. I wrote the books for myself, this is a story I really wanted to read and a friend suggested I share them online so I did. It surprises me all the time how much people like them and I am deeply deeply grateful for the kindness all the readers who got in touch with me have shown. ( In spite of all the terrible errors present) The only site I was very active on was Imperial chicks but I think that's gone now. I used to hangout a bit on the Force.net forums as well but I don't think I actively shared the books. If you ever find such a discussion I'd be interested though.

Thank you for being so kind.

    1. I'm sure you need to open a thread on Force.net. Such a work is worthy of much discussion. To be honest, your fan-fiction caused me a lot of emotions, although the main character did not become my favorite - not my type. But you described the images of Thrawn and Vader very well. It was so nice to plunge into a full-fledged new story with these two characters.

I have a few questions about fan-fiction... Can I ask you two questions that concern me most? First, why did you create a heroine who drinks so much alcohol, almost every day? Second, hm, a dancer at Jabba's club... it doesn't seem right, does it?

And it seems to me that there is no need to change the timeline of the fan-fiction. Let the original canon remain, because the new canon is terrible and unworthy.

Are you planning to write something else about Vader or Thrawn or both?
You definitely have a knack for writing books.

May the Force be with you.

  3. so I will try to answer your questions. I don't see that she drinks so much but I live in a culture in Europe where it's normal to have wine with meals and maybe a drink in the evening but you are right, she drinks. I suppose it was part of who she is and a coping mechanism for the messed up life she has. At the time I wrote it that was what she did. Maybe if I wrote it now that would be different, I don't really know.

If you want to be a dancer and the only gig in town is at the palace... It's Tatooine not Coruscant, there's no where else to go.

I have no real plans to write more about Thrawn or Vader. I think there are, now, so many good books about both characters on the market that I'm not sure I'd have anything more to add. What I would like to do is take my own timeline further into the next generation, we'll see. I keep writing snippets of things but nothing concrete yet. But anything I did do would be set in the future and most likely with the new canon because I find that way more interesting. And with many more possibilities. Or going back and interacting characters in the current Mandalorian timeline, which is also a really nice thread to weave into.

Thank you for being so kind. I enjoy writing when I get the chance, maybe one day I will get a lot more done. :)

  4. I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for sharing your amazing talents and story with the rest of us. I was fortunate enough to find this trilogy a few years ago, and I can honestly say it has easily become one of my favorite book series to read. Sometimes I even forget that some of it is your original writing instead coming straight from Star Wars lore. You've been able to capture Thrawn and all the other original Star Wars characters so perfectly, and that is certainly challenging to do as a writer. Your original characters built beautifully upon the existing Star Wars foundation, and I can so easily imagine them as part of the canon. I've always strongly connected with Merlyn. She reminds me so much of myself that I can easily imagine myself in her shoes and live the story through her eyes. I actually hope you don't change the story too drastically. While I love having Thrawn back in the new Disney canon, for me the Thrawn of the expanded universe will always be better. Thank you again for sharing your talents, and I wish you all the best!

    1. Thank you so so much for your kind words. I never dared to hope when I set the books into the wild that people would not just read them but also love them too. I am so grateful when I hear this. I promise I won't change much but what I am doing is cleaning up grammar, spelling errors, and an awful lot of extra words that don't add anything. When I first wrote these stories they went up as serialized bits and I, like Dickens, needed fill words to add well, just more, and now I want to remove all the extra and tighten the read. I hope that makes sense. The actual story line won't change, just think of it as clean up... :) thank you so much for writing to me.
